    "Anti Spec Spec Club…

To be fair, I really wasn’t going to go after one of these. I have some incredibly fun road cars and an ST on the way that I’m not sure will be able to be beaten for a modern day enthusiast car (a touring would fit here just as well) meant to be enjoyed on one’s favorite roads on any given day or weekend. The RS didn’t really “fit” for any of this. I see the various reviews pop up, and still thought…eh, this thing looks silly af and even if the journos love it, I don’t need it. Then, I see a @motortrend test that put the RS just 3.5 seconds behind a 992 cup at Road America and I went, “WHOA”… things turn in my head and not long after, @plmotorsport turns a barely 5.8 second faster slower lap at VIR than a new GT3R race car…which is absolutely LUDICROUS. I’m not sure a road car has ever gotten that close to its race car brethren…and that was kind of the final straw.

I’d been debating another race car, but it’s a pain to manage motorsports program cars without some serious help, and Porsche now sells this bombshell of a track ringer that can drive to the track…lap a few breaths away from a Cup car and be driven back?? That’s a MUST in any driving collector’s garage. Spec wise…wanted a modern version of my former cup car. No loud decals, no wild colors…this car is already loud af. I selected WP for the add ons and also the painted hood and roof body color option…other than my sense of humor, Im not a teenager and I really don’t love the gaudy carbon look. A bit later, my RS lands and literally screams motorsports to me, even though 992 cups are silver now, this just felt right. The RS…is going to be FUN, and I’m going to have a great time getting back to some tracks post shoulder surgery. Now I need to get some tire sets on order"
