    Hi guys !

I wanted to share with you the work done in a very special SC. It was the dream of many years ago and finally carried out.

The implementation of the CIS system in the latest models of the F series was perhaps a great technological advance at that time, it is not possible to say no, but it was never an injection system well seen by the problems they faced with the years and the Lack of Racing sensations, although it could be modified.

How bad is nostalgia! Well, dreams have to be taken to the end! We had the best SC in an amazing and unique state of preservation

Without doubt we wanted to pass this engine to carburetion, we needed to feel again the time of the great boss, great connoisseur and passionate of the carburetors

The choice was simple, PMO carburetors and other small sweets.

Carburetors have the option of being configured from the factory, for use racing, street, mixed, big brakes, ... Our configuration is secret !! :)

Next, we will relate in a small document, the whole process of change, materials, installation and final sensations.

And finally came the carbs from California! First impressions can not be beaten, amazing! Wanting to hear the sound and check the extra power! Look:

We remove the old CIS injection system, filter, accumulator, electric wire, air tubes, ..... Everything will be modified later:

Subsequently, it will be fundamental to modify the fuel pump relay. A new pump will be highly recommended. First, we will install the fuel pressure gauge. It is very very important, since the optimum performance of the carburetors, will depend on a correct fuel pressure:

Once a new electrical installation is adapted, we proceed to install the carburetors with a lot of attention and care. We will also begin to install a new exhaust system, with independent evacuation, necessary for the carburettors to function properly. It will also be necessary to modify the oil lines in order to adapt the new independent exhaust system:

Sport exhaust and designed oil lines:

After all the work done, it was time to give a new life to the engine, it became a "small" arrangement !!!
New cylinder-pistons and good Schrick cams. Let´s go !!! :)

Now we can be calmer !! There is little left to start this wonder !!!

And the end result, before starting the engine, looks like it will be very good!

This portuguese man of 80 years old, came from his land and will be in charge of "afinar" the carburation:

    Impressions after 5000 kms:

    uoooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuu !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything is fabulous - runs smoother, has more power, mixture is great! Very, very happy, I really appreciate your work, Richard !! thank you.
The PMO carburetors completely changed the way the car ran. We are more than happy. Throttle response is awesome. You should have seen the grin on the owner’s face!

The extra power gained with these carburetors is amazing and unique! A big difference in all respects, with respect to WEBER carburetors.
The sound of the engine after 4800 rpm, leaves you deaf !!! It is spectacular !! You hear the carburetion at full power and the exhaust system is not heard. A pleasure for lovers of real feelings.
The only "small" problem is the high fuel consumption.

My thanks to the forum of SOLOPORSCHE, a great community here present and enthusiastic of Porsche !
Thank you very much to Richard Parr, excellent work, You have designed a "cojonudos" carburetors !! :)
and also thanks to the Portuguese gentleman who has come from Portugal to adjust the carburetors !!!

    Best regards,
    David A.

Congratulations, a well documented post, now play a 911 with carburetors, one of the best sounds in the world. By the way the bonnet emblem was also beautiful.

Nice job! How much power do you estimate the engine makes at the moment?

Did you go for larger diameter cylinders/pistons or did you keep it at 3.0?

    Thank you Delmonte !!
Let's hope the high temperatures finish soon, to make a video. The sound is admirable!

Exactly. The sound stays forever in my mind.
The emblem is a small "personal touch".

Hello 1969. Your nickname reflects a great year in the history of Porsche. Good choice, really !!
The lord still has a great ear to adjust the carburetors, a great man. Many thanks again.

    Hi GTx!
I do not know what power it can reach with all the modifications. But if it is true, that car's lightness and engine with all the modifications, can hurt many cars in a track race. Of course! With good hands !!
My choice of pistons was MAHLE (10.3: 1) 98mm Big Bore.
    Thanks! :)

    Thank you very much, Astra1980.

All the work done, was done with the best affection and dedication, trying to expand my little knowledge still in a unique brand in the world.
    Best regards for all.

    Nice!

Did you need to do any machining of the heads when increasing the bore?

The nick is correct period in 1969 has a "Carrera", the type 906, trade name Porsche Carrera 6.

    More photos of the SC?

    Hi GTx,
The heads have not been touched, just polished to improve the air passage. :D
